Statutory Assessment Information for Parents

At the start of the reception year, a baseline assessment is carried out. You can find information about this assessment below:

Towards the end of Year 1, a statutory phonics screening  check is undertaken. A further check is carried out in Year 2 for children who do not pass the screening check in Year 1.

Please note that from 2024, KS1 SATs are no longer a statutory requirement. 

There are national optional tests for Year 2 pupils and we use these to inform our teacher assessment judgments.
