Penpals from the Humanitas School

Our Community Mini Vinnies have started a Penpal programme with the children at the Humanitas School in Ayensuako in Ghana. They have been writing letters to each other and sharing information about their schools, interests and things they like to do for fun!

Harvest Collections

Our friends from the Foodbank collect huge amount of donations from our annual harvest collection and other collections throughout the year. They are always completely amazed and astounded by the amount of food that is donated and packed up by our Community Mini Vinnies. Our whole school community has shown great generosity and kindness during our Harvest collections. The van was completely packed with boxes and bags of food and the driver told us that he loves coming to our school as we always donate the most food out of all the schools in Milton Keynes! Huge thanks to all of you; we are so very grateful for your kindness.

Christmas Gift Boxes for Caton House

Our Mini Vinnies came up with the idea of organising Christmas gift boxes for all of the 38 residents of Caton House Care Home. Every single resident received a wrapped box with a range of presents (blankets, cuddly toys, hygiene products, socks, gloves, gift sets – as per advice from the care home).  We were overwhelmed by the quantity of donations that were sent into school by our families especially as so many people are facing financial difficulties at this time. The boxes were delivered to the care home on the last day of term and the manager could not believe her eyes; she did not expect it at all. Our Community Mini Vinnies helped to pack up the boxes and they also wrote personal letters, prayers, poems and jokes for each box in order to give bring additional Christmas joy to the residents.
