Diocesan Schools' Mass

The Prayer Mini Vinnies and the Diocesan Schools Choir attended the very special Schools' Mass in Dunstable. The choir sang so beautifully, which was very moving indeed. The Prayer Mini Vinnies received a special blessing from Bishop David as Prayer Leaders of the school and said the words,  “I encourage all of you to be ‘leaders’ and active members of the community working together to achieve the mission of the Church. All are called to action, all are valued… the Church needs each and every one of you.” The children were thrilled to receive to be blessed by Bishop David.

The Visit of St Bernadette's Relics to Northampton Cathedral

The relics of St Bernadette have been touring our country for the very first time and spent 10th – 13th October at Northampton Cathedral. Our Y5/6 choir were asked to provide a special Live-Streamed liturgy to celebrate this once-in-a-lifetime event. They read and sang so beautifully. We received a special thank you from Fr Penhalagan: ‘Thanks so much for all you did in preparation for this morning's assembly. People were really blessed by it.  Please pass on our thanks to all the pupils who participated.  They are really very special’.

The whole school celebrated this wonderful occasion back at school by joining in with the live-screening and finding out all about our patron, St Bernadette.

St. Bernadette's Feast Day

Friday 16th April

We had a wonderful time today celebrating St. Bernadette's Feast Day.  Fr Brendan delivered an online service to tell us all about Our Lady of Lourdes and St. Bernadette with the help of our Prayer Mini Vinnies. We had beautiful singing and signing from Falcon class and the children carried out activities in their classrooms to celebrate this very special feast day for our school.  Across the school, there was lots of learning and a range of activities taking place in all of the classes. This ranged from art activities, newspaper reports, research and some children in Year 5 and 6 learned how to sign our school song, We are St. Bernadette's. A fantastic day had by all!

RISE THEATRE DRAMA DAY

The whole school was treated to a fun-filled Theatre Day with a religious drama group, Rise Theatre. They had the opportunity to creatively explore God’s planet, the impacts of a changing world and what they can do to help look after the planet in their own lives. The children thoroughly enjoyed the active songs, the creative activities that they carried out in the workshops in classrooms and taking part in the interactive final performance in the afternoon. A great day had by all!
